Supporting the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs
In an attempt to expand our philanthropic reach within the community, one of the goals of the John G. Watson Foundation is to offer monetary support to help fund the education of students attending local colleges and universities. The Foundation understands the importance of higher education and we are interested in providing the opportunity for select students to continue their learning journeys by helping finance their higher education.
Over 200,000 students attend college at campuses within the San Diego region. Universities such as San Diego State University, UC San Diego, and University of San Diego all boast strong entrepreneurship programs that house students in various disciplines interested in pursuing entrepreneurial careers. Additionally, San Diego is home to numerous community colleges that offer a wide-range of programs geared towards the regions technology industries, including biotech and wireless communications. Scholarship programs would work to benefit the students at these institutions working towards achieving their entrepreneurial aspirations.
Currently, the John G. Watson Foundation has not established any scholarships or grants to aid in students’ education. Looking to the future we hope to identify exceptional students, on both a need and merit-based criteria, with an expressed interest in entrepreneurship and award them to assist in the pursuit of their educational endeavors.
If you are interested in collaborating with the John G. Watson Foundation in establishing a scholarship of any amount please contact us.
