The John G. Watson Quick Pitch, presented by Tech Coast Angels, CONNECT w/ SDVG, and Cox Business, is a business competition that showcases talented entrepreneurs seeking funding. Company finalists are selected from a pool of applicants to present two minute pitches to an expert panel of judges and an audience of over 500 leaders from the entrepreneurial community. Each pitch is judged based on investment potential and presentation quality. The overall winner is awarded a large cash prize on behalf of the John G. Watson Foundation and other sponsor partners.

Previously known simply as the San Diego Quick Pitch Competition, the event was renamed in 2015 in honor of one of its biggest supporters. The Quick Pitch Competition was very near to John G. Watson’s heart, and he was heavily involved in organizing the event. He proved instrumental in securing a venue at Qualcomm with a capacity of upwards of 500, to hold a growing and repeatedly sold out Quick Pitch event.

The John G. Watson Quick Pitch Competition offers the opportunity for participants and attendees to network and build relationships with experienced Tech Coast Angels and San Diego Venture Group investors as well as leaders from San Diego’s entrepreneurial and business community. The event boasts an energetic and interactive atmosphere as the most promising  entrepreneurs compete to achieve their dreams in a dynamic environment full of inspiration, surprises and fun.
